Premium quality high power 200w/m² electric under tile heating from. BodenWärme 200w/m² underfloor heating mat. Easy fit with complete self adhesive mesh. Thermostat if required (selected type). Floor temperature sensor with 3m cable. Tough, Safe, Long Lasting Wire. Dual core wire with simple single connection point. Thin 3.6mm cable keeping the increase in floor height to a minimum. Tough Fluoropolymer conductor insulation with hard PVC outer insulation ensuring durability. 100% armoured earth coverage to entire wire offering safety & peace of mind. 2.5m Cold lead (2-wire plus ground braid). Twin conductor construction emitting no harmful EMF. 200w/m² giving ample power for sole-source heating even in poorly insulated rooms such as conservatories. High output of 200w/² also greatly reduces heat up times compared to 100w/m² or 150w/m² systems. The entire mesh of the mat is self adhesive, unlike others with small adhesive strips. This makes the installation of both the heating mat and the latex / tile adhesive on top considerably easier. Thin sticky mat that doesn’t curl up from the floor unlike others. Easy installation with zero maintenance required. Once installed there is nothing to leak or burst and nothing to flush, bleed, clean or service. Even positioning of the heat source means optimum comfort is achieved throughout the whole room unlike hot or cold spots produced by radiators. Thermostat control promotes energy savings through better control of zone heating, meaning you only heat the rooms you want, when you want. The temperature profile of underfloor heating is much closer to the ideal heating profile, where feet are warm, while the head remains cool. Please see our other listings for full details on the thermostats. All digital models are fully programmable with timer functions. Before selecting your heating, it is vital to ensure you have the correct size heat mat to suit your room. The correct size is required as the wire CANNOT be reduced or extended. Work out the total area of the room. Deduct the areas of all fixed items such as kitchen units, bath, toilet e. Deduct a further 10% from this remaining area. This allows for the spaces between the mats and around the edge. It is always best to have a little less heating than some left over! As with all electrical projects governed by Part P regulations, all mains electrical connections must be undertaken by a certified electrician. The heating system must be protected by a 30mA RCD. This can be situated within the consumer unit or via a dedicated RCD fused spur. We recommend a maximum area of 15m² to be controlled by one thermostat. Any area greater than this should be split into separate zones (different heat mats) and controlled by more than one thermostat. Ensure the total current of your heating system does not exceed the current capacity of the circuit it is connected to. Normal ring circuits are rated at 13A and an electrical feed can be taken via a single 13A fused spur. We recommend the use of cement coated insulation board when installing BodenWärme underfloor heating. Insulation boards reduce heat-up times and running costs by up to 50%. This means they can pay for themselves in just 2-3 years. The high power 200w/m² output of this heating makes it unsuitable to install directly onto any wooden subfloor. The use of insulation boards to provide a thermal barrier between heat sensitive subfloors and the heating wire is mandatory. This heating can be laid directly onto concrete subfloors. Heat up times will be between 25% and 50% faster than systems with outputs of 150w/m² and 100w/m². What type of tile can be used with BodenWärme underfloor heating? All types of floor tile are suitable, these include ceramic, porcelain and natural stone Travertine, slate, marble and granite e. Will BodenWärme floor heating warm the room as well as the floor? Yes, the power output of this system is ideal for using as the sole source of heating. Can the heating cable be shortened or extended? It is vital that the correct size heat mat is used. Simply draw out your floor plan with all measurements including all furniture items without legs of at least 60mm & a free flowing air gap underneath , and send these across to us. How much will it cost to run? Several factors will affect this including insulation & other heat sources. An average cost is approximately 1.4p per square meter per hour. How reliable is BodenWärme underfloor heating? This dual core heating model has been on the market for over 6 years now & to date there has been NO cases of a product developing a fault due to a manufacturing defect after installation. What type of tile adhesive should I use? If installing onto a concrete subfloor use a flexible S1 grade adhesive. If the subfloor is timber a flexible S2 type should be used. The heating SHOULD NOT be installed directly onto any type of wooden floor. All wooden subfloors should have an insulation board installed to provide a thermal barrier between the wood and the heating. All wooden subfloors must also be stabilized as per BS5385 to ensure suitability for tiling. Can I use this heating with other floor coverings such as laminate flooring? No, this type of underfloor heating is only suitable for use with tiles. How quickly can I use the heating after I have laid the tiles? The heating should be left off for 2 weeks after installation to allow the adhesive to cure properly. It should then be turned on at a low temperature and increased by a few degrees a day. We endeavour to dispatch all orders received before 12.00 noon on the same day, workload permitting. Items must be checked & signed for upon receipt.
